Under permitted development, as long as certain criteria is met, home owners have the legal right to extend the property without the need for planning permission. Recently the government have relaxed this criteria and therefore homeowners, for a limited time, have the right to extend even further without the need for planning permission. Most of our clients choose to instruct EAS to submit a Lawful Development Certificate (LDC). This certificate simply gives the home owner a legal document which states that the development is legal.
