Case Study 3: (June 2013)

Location: Burgess Hill, Sussex
Project: New Build, 5 Bedroom detached dwelling
Construction: Timber Frame. Beam and Block
Property Value: £850,000 - Sold
Developer: Benjamin Allen Timber Framed Homes

Work undertaken by EAS: EAS are proud to have designed this luxury 5 bedroom home on a private piece of land in rural Burgess Hill. We were approached by Benjamin Allen and asked to produce a proposal to work with the building site which they purchased with outline planning consent.

We visited the site and then discussed with the client what their requirements were. This particular project was a development to sell therefore we had to produce a scheme which maximised the amount of rooms with allocated sizes stated in the outline planning consent.

In the first instance, sketches were produced as a starting point which eventually developed into a 3D sketch model. The 3D sketch model was a sucsesful tool in giving the client and planners an overall feel of the design at all angles. Once we had reached a design that the client was happy with we produced planning drawings - floor plans, elevations, sections and a location and block plan, and submitted a planning application.

Once planning permission was granted we began a building regulations package to submit to building control for their approval.

The shell of this project was timber frame and therefore we produced a set of working drawings for Benjamin Allen to construct the pre fabricated components at their factory.

EAS were also commissioned to produce an advertisement display board (below). The board was erected near to the building site and used on various estate agency websites. This proved to be successful as the house was sold before the construction phase had even finished.
